How to plant: 1 to 2 inches deep. 12 inches apart. Rows should be at least 24 inches apart

Dix Park’s five acres of sunflowers are visually spectacular and enormously beneficial. Birds, bees, and butterflies prosper. The air and soil are renewed. Because the City of Raleigh plants and cultivates nearly 200,000 sunflowers, thousands of people visit to enjoy, learn, take selfies, pose for family pictures, and make amazing memories every summer.
