ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In partnership with Raleigh Arts and with funding from the Carlyle Adams Foundation, the Dix Park Conservancy is prioritizing the development of an Artist in Residence Program at Dix Park, to be based out of the renovated Physician’s House in 2024-2025.

The Dix Park Artist in Residence is encouraged to explore ecologically focused artworks that should inspire Raleigh residents and tourists to visit Dix Park and its surrounding communities while continuing the mission of the park as a place that “honors the legacy of the land and brings new meaning to the landscape; bringing the community together in a place of wellness, belonging, and celebration for all.”

The selection of the artists will be done by application. Artists or artist teams who live or work in North Carolina, especially those interested in environmental art, land art, environmental stewardship, and working with natural materials and sustainable practices are encouraged to apply.
