In partnership with the City of Raleigh, the Dix Park Conservancy supports the planning, development, and operation of Dorothea Dix Park to create a premier destination park for our community, state, and nation.
The Dorothea Dix Park, with rolling landscape over creeks and hills, offers tremendous potential for both the park and the communities surrounding the land. And with 308 acres surrounded by neighborhoods, schools, a university, and just shy of downtown, Dix Park will be a destination park for the city and the state. A destination park is a common denominator of great cities—from New York to San Francisco, Houston to Atlanta, St. Louis to Chicago. Such a park creates a competitive advantage for cities luring tourists, businesses, and new residents. With open spaces and gathering places, a great park brings together a diverse and multi-generational community while benefiting the environment and public health.
